Joe started his career working with employee benefit and retirement plans. In 1999, as a financial advisor with TIAA-CREF, he began helping university and hospital staff and faculty reach their retirement goals. Joe built his experience through years of one-on-one financial counseling and obtaining his Certified Financial Planner® designation.
In 2012, looking to build closer client relationships through more in-depth financial planning, Joe joined Hefren-Tillotson. Joe embraced a culture of financial planning through their Masterplan Process. His goal has always been to have long-lasting client relationships built on a foundation of trust and planning.
In 2016, in the spirit of collaboration, Joe and Ray Tyson formed their team based on mutual respect for client dedication. More recently with the merger of Baird and Hefren-Tillotson in 2022, Joe quickly realized the very familiar culture of putting the client’s interest first. With Ray’s upcoming retirement, they made the easy decision to form a larger team, partnering with Ben Montgomery and Adam Hubert.
In addition to his own experience in financial planning and wealth management, Joe will leverage Baird’s considerable resources in estate, tax and income planning for better client outcomes.
Joe and his wife, Judy, reside in Upper St. Clair. They have three children, Mitchell, Stephanie, and Eric.
